Area of Research: Development of Medical diagnostics: Point-of-Care devices using Nanotechnology.
Research Interests: My core research interests lie in developing affordable diagnostic system for common diseases, Biofilm characterization, anti-biofilm and anti-bacterial medical devices, Targeted drug delivery system.
Background: Shweta has completed her M.Sc. in Microbiology from Mumbai University in the year 2022. She is a gold medalist in undergraduate program and rank holder in Maharashtra State level Olympiad (Microbiology). She has also completed her internship from E-Cell IIT-Kharagpur and IIT-Bombay in the domain of Computational Biology (Proteomics) and Whole Genome Sequencing. Subsequently, she joined Prof. Rohit Srivastava's NanoBios Lab, IIT-Bombay as a Project Research Assistant. Currently she is working on developing point-of-care medical devices (Lateral Flow Assays) for Thyroid Hormones, 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 and Ferritin. Her core research interests include developing affordable diagnostic system for common diseases, Biofilm characterization, anti-biofilm and anti-bacterial medical devices, Targeted drug delivery system.
